Preparing young adults for a data-driven workforce
Most districts have signed onto college and career readiness goals in civic engagement, climate , and sustainability. The harder part is giving students a way to demonstrate those skills with work they can point to when a college admissions officer or an employer asks,
“What can you actually do?”
We get students working on questions that are part of their everyday lives:
Why does my neighborhood flood every August?
Where are environmental hazards concentrated — and who decided that?
How do zoning decisions actually get made?
Answering those questions means reading data, building an argument, and communicating findings to a real audience. Students learn analysis, research, and digital storytelling all at once.
